After the 2018 election, Abrams founded Fair Fight Action, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating voter suppression and promoting fair elections. She has also been a vocal critic of the Republican-led efforts to restrict voting rights.

She has also worked to expand access to the ballot box through early voting, same-day registration, and automatic voter registration.
In 2021, Abrams published a book entitled "Our Time Is Now: Power, Purpose, and the Fight for a Fair America." In the book, she shares her experiences as a voting rights activist and outlines her vision for a more just and equitable democracy.
